Don’t let financial distress during COVID-19 get in the way of you or your child’s college education. Student loan borrowers are another special group receiving important financial relief benefits.
Student loan borrowers are experiencing loan forbearance or suspended payment options through the U.S. Department of Education (ED) office of Federal Student Aid and the signing of the CARES Act. Payments were suspended on March 13 through September 30.
Students are encouraged to still make payments if they are able. And this is good news for students with ED and Direct Loans and most students with FFEL Program loans and Federal Perkins loans who get the added benefit of 0% interest through September 30.
